Volunteer Policy, Safeguarding & Privacy Notice
This notice explains the minimum conditions for joining and serving through the TUS Volunteer Response Network.
Eligibility & Conduct
- Public volunteer enrollment is for persons aged 18 years or above.
- Registration does not automatically guarantee deployment or assignment.
- Volunteers must provide accurate information and keep availability and emergency-contact details current.
- TUS may verify identity, experience, skills and training before assignment.
- Volunteers must follow TUS instructions, safety requirements, code of conduct and safeguarding/PSEA standards.
Safeguarding & Safety
- Harassment, exploitation, abuse, discrimination, sexual misconduct and misuse of beneficiary information are prohibited.
- Volunteers must respect confidentiality and dignity of community members.
- TUS may suspend or restrict deployment where safeguarding, conduct, safety or performance concerns exist.
- Emergency deployment remains subject to TUS confirmation, team/role assignment and operational instructions.
Data & Privacy
TUS stores personal information needed for registration, verification, communication, training, readiness, assignment, attendance, ID cards, service records, certificates, safeguarding, audit and reporting.
Access is limited according to operational roles. Sensitive information should only be used for legitimate volunteer-management and safety purposes. TUS may retain service and audit records where necessary for accountability and organizational records.
Volunteer Service
Volunteer assignments may include regular opportunities or emergency response. Assignment acceptance may be followed by TUS confirmation before attendance opens. Service hours are based on verified daily attendance records.
Certificates and assignment-specific ID authorization are issued only under the applicable TUS workflow and are not proof of permanent employment.
